Using a remote console to log on a linux environment, there usually is no graphical interface (hence why it is called remote command-line)
There are a few tools that can give you an idea what the image looks like, tools like caca-utils will render an image and return an array of ascii characters to your console.
This is a 800px image from the Mona Lisa painting displayed by cacaview:
![mona lisa rendered by cacaview](https://i0.wp.com/www.nickyvermeersch.me/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Xshell_N7kLs0kNPp.png?resize=1024%2C632&ssl=1)
As you can see it returns colored ascii characters. For a large image this could give you a good idea what it is, but for smaller imagesets it is not suited.
There is a much better tool for these small images such as icons or small images. called catimg
